Top 6 Best Liquid Lipsticks Available To Buy In The UK

If you know me, you’ll know I’m a HUGE lipstick fan! And, of course, liquid lipsticks are my absolute favourite because of their long stay. So I thought “why not blog about it”?

I’ve put together a list of my top 6 favourite liquid lipsticks. We’re going to cover all price ranges from Kat Von D through to Superdrug’s MUA, which means there’ll be something for all budgets. Hooray!

I’ll run through it back to front, with the last one being the absolute best. And remember, ALWAYS WEAR A PRIMER BEFORE APPLYING LIQUID LIPSTICKS. I use MAC. Otherwise, things are gonna get dry real fast.

  1. Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick

Some of you may be surprised to find that my least favourite liquid lipstick is from none other than Urban Decay.

The colour I use the most is Amulet, and it’s quite a neutral shade by my standards. I always find that it comes off pretty easily though, and it flakes like CRAZY. It’s also so easy to end up layering it up too much, which just makes my lips feel horrendous.

Not my favourite, sadly. And certainly not worth the price tag of £15.50.

  1. MUA – Luxe Velvet Liquid Lip

My fifth favourite goes to MUA – a brand that you can find in Superdrug. It’s a bit of a jump down from Urban Decay, but their Luxe Velvet Liquid Lip product is just £3 and, for the price, lasts exceedingly well.

You will get some flaking with this, but for three quid the staying power is exceptional, as is the pigmentation. It’s a great choice if you want a liquid lipstick but can’t afford something from the likes of Too Faced. Go wild with these while they’re still available to buy. My favourite colour is Moxie.

  1. NYX Liquid Suede Lip Cream

My go-to place for NYX products is Boots. They usually have a counter dedicated to the brand, and their Liquid Suede Lip Cream is another great, budget choice.

Priced at £9, they have a vast range of colours from bright orange to dark purple, both of which I own, and they’re a great place to start if you want to try out similar colours on yourself before spending big bucks on the more expensive brands.

My favourite shade in this one is Foul Mouth. It’s a dark purple that I always get compliments on (largely from my fiancee, but it still counts!) They have good staying power, and although they can feel a little ‘caked on’ after a while (you may need a few layers for full coverage) it doesn’t stop me from using them.

  1. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

I want to start this one by saying I LOVE KAT VON D. I adore her style, and I am obsessed with her and her beauty tribe on Instagram.

Most of the liquid lipsticks I own are Kat Von D, and the only colour I dislike so far is the dark shade Damned, which bleeds around the edges despite primer and liner.

Kat’s beauty brand comes third on my list, not because it isn’t great, but because it’s a little less comfortable to wear than Too Faced and Jeffree Star, and also because the Bauhau5 shade, which I adore, stains my lips like crazy. However, for an amazing red liquid lipstick that has long-lasting stay power, you won’t go far wrong with Outlaw red.

There is, however, one gripe that gets me with this brand, and that’s how long it takes for the new colours to come out in the UK. I’ve been waiting about 5 months for a shade that debuted in America ages ago and I’m kinda loose patience – especially when I’m finding other similar colours from different brands.

Hurry up, Kat!

  1. Too Faced – Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick

I discovered Too Faced after Kat Von D, and what I really like about their liquid lipsticks is that they look great, they’re comfortable, and they last ages!

I have their melted matte liquefied lipstick in Lady Balls (Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the name?!) and I adore wearing it.

I do find that I have to be careful if I’m in light tops, because although it is a long-wear lipstick, it’s still a bit moist (hence the melted bit) and I can sometimes get careless and end up smudging it all over the show. My bad.

It’s very comfortable to wear though, and it lasts most of the day (although it may need touching up slightly after eating). I’m eyeing up It’s Happening, a bright fuchsia pink, as my next purchase. You can get this brand at Debenhams, and it’s my most expensive purchase yet at £19.

  1. Jeffree Star – Velour Liquid Lipstick

I am fairly new to the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick shades – but so far, I am blown away.

I have been wearing a Jeffree lipstick today since 8 am, and it’s been four and a half hours since I applied it and it still hasn’t budged. It has survived cereal, tea, water and a sandwich and crisps – and I can hardly feel it.

You can certainly see it, though. I have gone for Prom Night which is a shocking pink, and I’m absolutely delighted with it – although it did stain my lips slightly. However, I still can’t wait to get my hands on more. Specifically Breakfast At Tiffany’s, which is a mint green that I’m yet to see anyone else produce.

You can buy Jeffree Star products over on beautybay.com. They’re £16 each, and you get free postage too! For me, this is the best product out there for long stay wear. So don’t miss out.
